ABOUT

LJP Educational Consulting, LLC was founded in 2015 by Lorenza Pharrams, Ed.D., with a clear mission: to equip educators and educational leaders with practical, research-based strategies that strengthen relationships, improve school culture, develop leadership, and ultimately create better outcomes for students.
Dr. Pharrams is a nationally sought-after educational consultant, author, keynote speaker, and leadership trainer whose work bridges the gap between theory, research, and practice. Known for his engaging, thought-provoking, and sometimes unconventional approach, he challenges educators to move beyond simply identifying problems to implementing strategies that create meaningful and sustainable change.
At the heart of his work is a fundamental belief: relationships matter. Whether working with classroom teachers, school leaders, district administrators, college educators, or students, Dr. Pharrams emphasizes the powerful intersection of relationships, relevance, and rigor and their collective impact on teaching, learning, leadership, and school culture.
Dr. Pharrams brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including service as a teacher, assistant principal, principal for 16 years, principal mentor, and district director overseeing At-Risk Students, Attendance, Virtual Learning, and Alternative Learning Programs. Much of his career has been dedicated to serving students and educators in some of education's most challenging environments. Those experiences have shaped his expertise in teacher-student relationships, school leadership, classroom management, student discipline, trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, school culture, and supporting at-risk populations.
His leadership extends beyond improving systems. It develops people. Throughout his career, Dr. Pharrams has mentored and developed educators who have advanced from classroom teachers to assistant principals, principals, and district-level leaders. Principals, superintendents, colleges, school districts, and educational organizations value his ability to challenge conventional thinking while providing practical strategies that educators can immediately apply.
A hallmark of every LJP Educational Consulting experience is Dr. Pharrams' ability to combine research with reality. His presentations are not lectures filled with theory alone. Through powerful storytelling, humor, personal experiences, research, reflection, and practical application, he creates professional learning experiences designed to inspire participants while equipping them with tools they can use long after the presentation ends.
Author & Thought Leader
Dr. Pharrams is the author of two books centered on one of the most important principles in education: before we can effectively teach students, we must first understand, value, and reach them.
His first book, Nobody Told Them They Were Somebody: A Guide to Helping At-Risk Students, draws upon decades of experience working with students facing academic, behavioral, social, and environmental barriers. The book challenges educators to recognize the potential behind the circumstances and provides practical approaches for helping students move from risk to resilience and achievement.
His second book, You Can't Teach Me If You Can't Reach Me: Relational Strategies for Academic Success, expands that work by focusing on the transformative power of teacher-student relationships. Through research-based relational strategies, Dr. Pharrams provides educators with practical tools for building trust, strengthening classroom culture, increasing student engagement, and creating environments where students feel seen, valued, supported, and capable of succeeding. Together, the books reflect the foundation of Dr. Pharrams' life's work: when educators intentionally build relationships, create relevance, and maintain high expectations, they can change trajectories—not simply test scores.
The LJP Difference
LJP Educational Consulting, LLC partners with schools, districts, colleges, universities, and educational organizations to create customized professional learning experiences that address real challenges facing today's educators and leaders.
From keynote addresses and district-wide professional development to leadership coaching, mentoring, school improvement, and student programming, Dr. Pharrams approaches every engagement with one objective: Move people from inspiration to implementation... and from implementation to impact.
Because great schools do more than teach content. They build relationships. They develop people. They change lives.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
